Goldilocks

Gorgeous was the night. Ugly was the sin that brought me outside, over here. In the woods there are things that you wouldn’t believe. But momma always said, no, child, don’t go. Vacant was my stare, hungry for the meal that was laid right in front of me. In the woods there are things I was starving for. But momma always said no. Everything I touch, everything I make mine, it seems just to fall apart. Don’t go crying to her, because she told you, girl. No. This is not my bed, but I find myself climbing in again and again. Pray to God, make this be one that’s just right for me. No.

Side Show Love

Pay two bucks, see my heart explode.  Give me a dime and I'll get on the stool and dance.  Joe and I are both 21.  Mr. Manager put him over there with the lions and tigers.  He made a baby cry, a woman weep, a man grab his coat and leave, gagging.  Joe wants to be one of you.  I said, No Joe, you'll never get through to them.  So, relish your freakdom.  Precious to me, you are.  In this skin, Joe. It's only skin, Joe.  They're scared of themselves, Joe.  Pay two bucks, see our hearts explode.  Give us a dime and we'll get on the stool and dance.  Joey, I would've married you.  But you're seeing me in the same light as they're seeing you.  Joey, I would've married you.  Don't rest your head.  Even an elephant can forget.

Sweet Thing

Sweet thing, don't worry your head about it all.  They cannot touch you in my arms.  I can remember the day that you came.  I remember the look on that nurse's face.  Sweet thing, dream a good one.  You must be tired today, my sweet thing.  Dream a good one.  You must be tired today, my.  I felt like killing the lady today in the store when she saw you.  Sweet thing, dream a good one.  You must be tired today, my sweet thing.  Dream a good one.  You must be tired today, my sweet thing.
